Hi all[sorry to the marathon runners amongst you, I know this is measly by comparison but still...]
A few players at Nomads have decided (or were cajoled by Tina and I at the end of season get-together) to undertake a 20 mile challenge walk on Saturday 12th May, taking in the sights of Epsom Downs, Epsom Common, Nonsuch Park, the Hogsmill and Horton Country Park. The decision was made in haste with little (or in most cases) no preparation or training - yikes!!
The team is myself, Tina Sullivan, Amy Cole, Helen Carswell, Dave Bond and Jackie Robson. If you know any of us you'll know this will be a challenge haha.
Although initially this was just a leisurely (?) challenge, many who declined to join us (bow to our pressure) said " but I'll sponsor you"! So we decided to raise sponsorship funds for the Royal Marsden: "The Royal Marsden provide world-class care for cancer patients, and to support the hospital’s pioneering work in cancer research and education. By doing this, we aim to help make life better for people with cancer everywhere, and strive for a future without it."
This is a quick note to thank the many Korfballers old and new, past and present who have already sponsored us to £1290 in just two weeks... massive THANK YOU, we really appreciate your support for this charity.
