Just wondered if any (other) korfballers are going to be involved in London 2012 this Summer.Dean Woods (Volleyball at Earls Court), Sally More (Bus Transport Team) and myself (Beach Volleyball at Horse Guards Parade - well somebody had to!) have all volunteered as Games Makers. And I hear Laurie Swan is going to be involved in the Opening Ceremony. Dancing in a ridiculous costume hopefully. Anybody else?

Beach volleyball will be great fun! ;)There are (at least) two korfballers working on the organising committee itself. Julia Gadsden (Supernova?) and I (Luton Hatters) are lucky enough to be on the project full-time. And I hear that Alice Kempski (ex Cambridge Tigers) will be at Wembley in the Media Centre as a Games-maker.

Nicola Rolph of Bec (ex-Manchester Warriors) is the Track Cycling Technical Operations Manager. She is pretty much in charge of the cycling events at the Velodrome: http://twitter.com/#!/nicolarolph------- http://www.beckorfball.co.uk |

Nothing sums up the current state of the olympics than the inclusion of beach volleyball, especially when it is not even played on a beach

Bit harsh coming from a sport called korfball, which don't play on 'korf' anymore. Arnold http://www.edinburghkorfball.co.uk/ |

Sally is not just on any transport team, but on the athletes village team - how fab! Well done everyone for getting involved, what a buzz. My sister Sophie is also involved in the Opening Ceremony - some sort of dance role and my other sister Laura has been working on the test events and recruiting production volunteers... she will also be working full-time in the sports presentation team as production coordinator at the basketball arena. www.nomadskorf.com |

If anything Steve, we are returning back to the original ideas behind the games, during the first few the athletes performed almost or completely naked.I'd argue it's the way forward for Korfball if I hadn't seen the things I have seen during tournament socials... I'm working on the same floor as Julia, Hugh might of see you floating around. I will be in the operation centre from games time, back on shift work but looking forward to it.

It is a point of view Steve. But I intend to be stoic and put aside any personal doubts I might have about the validity of beach volleyball for the sake of the nation.
