Poll Question:
If you are aware of how much your club pays your highest paid coach, please answer the survey question below. This should establish an approximation the going rate for general information. I have been asked to advise a few times, and I wonder what the full picture is.Do not post how much specific individuals are being paid! That would be inappropriate, unproductive and deleted.

I don't know if it's common in the UK, but we don't work with an hourly rate, but with a yearly rate.Think different - Korfball |

I would also be very interested in how much you pay for travel expenses as well - do you e.g. pay 40p per mile, a train ticket, or a set amount?

In Holland, an all-in yearly rate is common. So you have to pay everything from the money you get.Think different - Korfball |

if we want to develop the top quality coaches there needs to be as many incentives as possible and in my view they should always get paid even if it is only their out of pocket expenses. We don't hesitate to pay referees yet often clubs are reluctant to pay coaches. And of course the more a club pays the more demanding they can be. It always seemed strange to me that I would get paid for little more than coaching a 2 hour training session at club level but as a national coach, something that took considerably more of my time, I got paid nothing, not even expenses bar one trip to a competition paid each year. Of the 54 coaches who voted it interesting that nearly half say they don't get paid anything. If we want a more professional and effective coaching structure then paying coaches is something that will need to be part of it

These rates are for Company Cars (which are generally lower as there are other tax breaks wrapped up in them), NOT privately owned ones. Mileage rates for non-company car owners are higher.

Count yourselves lucky, here it was 19 Eurocent per km and politics wants to reduce it to 12 Eurocent per km.Think different - Korfball |
