They look suspiciously like the old ones in black to me. Pics of new ones are from Emma.------- Korfball.com Webmaster http://www.basingstokekorfball.co.uk/ http://www.wokingkorfball.co.uk/ http://www.londonkorfball.co.uk/ |

Think the old ones have been discontinued :( Am quite disappointed because I picked up a pair in Belgium and they're really good---much lighter than any basketball shoes I've ever owned. Sam -- http://korfball.eusu.ed.ac.uk http://www.scotlandkorfball.co.uk |

It is a shame that it is proving almost impossible to stock the Asics 'Korfball' shoes in the UK, although I am still to be convinced that these are simply not basketball boots given a new name, as the old asics boots were and they were available in the US for a lot less than 99 eurosIt would be great for players to actually try the boots on before they bought them as comfort and fit are crucial You would have thought that any company would be keen to sell as many of its products as possible but that does not seem the case here and there seems to be a lot of protectionism at work as sadly often is the case in smaller sports I have tried Asics UK but sadly they did not hide their lack on interest very well requiring a minimum order of 500 to even think about distributing them Asics Europe have failed to return any emails or phone calls I am certainly aware that Asics looks to control the market of their products and appear very selective about who they allow to sell them, a bit like the other global empires such as nike I'll keep persisting with both Asics Europe and Asics UK but it might help if a few more people send them emails asking about retailers of the product in the UK If Asics UK are able to take the same approach as Mikasa UK did in respect of Mikasa Korfballs then it would be possible to have the shoes as readily available as Korfballs currently are. Plus of course it is possible then to keep prices are fair and reasonable levels as has happened with balls as a result (Mikasa Korfballs were retailing in the UK for £39.99 over 15 years ago) Are Asics in any way connected with the IKF in terms of any sponsorship or other agreement?

asics is a knkv sponsor, but I don't know about the IKF.The foto's are right BTW, no mistakes there. There is an actual difference between the BBall boot and the korfball boot. There is now also an astro boot for korfball available. Also made by asics. Interesting ... I've looked around for basketball/korfball boots (e.g. more ankle support) but with astro-turf style grips and never found any. Do you have a link?

They sponsor the Dutch Korfball Association and have the ASICS male and female player of the year Award in the Korfball League and most valuable player of the finals in Ahoj'. Also they supply clothing and shoes for the national senior and junior squads. So, quite a bit.....! http://www.asics.nl/Sports/Korfbal-highlight/KNKV.htm Again, only in Dutch......
