Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This page mostly features questions sent to us through the feedback form, although we have added some anticipated scenarios.

Q.  Why not include player interviews, pictures and features?
A.  This is something that has been considered and is likely to be pursued in the future, although currently Korfball.com does not have the resources to carry this out.

Q.  How many people are looking at the site?
A.  The number of regular users generally depends on the frequency of new information arriving.  The number of unique users per week has varied between 100 and 500.

Q.  I cannot find the full list of UK clubs which was available previously on "Korfball in the UK".  Can you help?
A.  These contact lists will appear on the imminent BKA website.  They are currently gaining the appropriate signatures from their members to comply with the new 1998 Data Protection Act.  Requests for a copy via e-mail can be directed to admin@korfball.com .

Q.  I've subscribed to the Mailing List and haven't heard anything, why?
A.  These e-mails are sent out infrequently, too many e-mails would cause objections.

Q.  Where has the "Services" section gone?
A.  Due to work load, we are currently unable to provide any web page creation services to clubs in general, although exceptions can be made.  A new range of services, including webspace, e-mail addresses and more will be launched soon.   Please add yourself to the mailing-list to receive information on this soon.

Q.  Where has the "Advertise" section gone?
A.  This section has been temporarily removed.  Applications to advertise on this site should be directed to:  webmaster@korfball.com .

Q.  Can you help with my essay/project?
A.  Unfortunately we do not have time to answer individual queries.  Post them in the Forum to draw people's attention to the matter.

Q.  Why not have a section for The Netherlands written in Dutch?
A.  Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to produce or verify any Dutch language content, since nobody at Korfball.com speaks Dutch, so the site will remain English only for the foreseeable future.  Also, it would not be possible for us to directly rival the coverage provided by the official KNKV site since we are entirely UK based.

Q.  I notice that you have advertising on your site - presumably you are making quite a bit of money?
A.  There are three sources of advertising income on Korfball.com, banners supplied by ValueClick and links to CDnow and Amazon.co.uk .  Banners pay per click and CDnow/Amazon pay commission on purchases made after clicking through a link on these pages.  The total amount of money gained does not cover the basic costs of this website.

Q.  Can Korfball.com provide us with webspace for our club website?
A.  Currently we are only able to recommend webspace and provide the virtual link service to that location.  We will be announcing plans to sell webspace and e-mail addresses very shortly.
